Karinya Interiors Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions

  1. Quotations and Orders
All quotations are based on the measurements, fabric selections, specifications and requirements discussed with the customer. Quotations are valid for the period stated on the quotation. Any changes to the original requirements may result in additional costs.
Work will proceed once the quotation has been accepted and any agreed deposit or initial payment has been received.
  2. Deposits and Payments
Deposits, progress payments and final payments are payable as outlined in the accepted quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the final balance is due on the day of installation or supply on the invoice date.
  3. Custom-Made Products
Curtains and blinds are made to measure for the customer’s specific requirements. Customers are responsible for checking and approving fabric selections, colours, styles and specifications before manufacture. Fabric colours and textures may vary slightly from samples or screen images due to lighting, dye lots and the nature of the materials. Once manufacturing has commenced, changes to the order may incur additional costs.
  4. Measurements and Installation
Karinya Interiors will take measurements and arrange installation as specified in the accepted quotation. Customers must ensure that the installation area is accessible, ready for installation and free from obstructions. Any additional work required due to site conditions, changes to the property or circumstances outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges, which will be discussed with the customer.
  5. Changes to Orders
Any requested changes to measurements, fabrics, designs, quantities or installation requirements after acceptance of the quotation must be agreed upon in writing. Additional costs and any effect on completion dates will be advised before the changes proceed.
  6. Separate Invoices and Disputed Accounts
Each invoice relates to the specific goods or services supplied under that invoice. A complaint, dispute or payment issue relating to one job or invoice does not automatically entitle the customer to withhold, delay, deduct or offset payment for an unrelated invoice or separate completed job. Customers must notify Karinya Interiors in writing of any concerns, identifying the specific job and amount in dispute. Undisputed amounts remain payable in accordance with the agreed payment terms, subject to any applicable legal rights.
  7. Overdue Payments and Interest
If an invoice remains unpaid after its due date, Karinya Interiors may issue a formal written letter of demand specifying the outstanding amount and a deadline for payment. If payment remains outstanding after that deadline, interest may be charged on the overdue amount for each subsequent day until payment is received in full, at 10% per annum, calculated daily, provided this term and rate were agreed to before the contract was entered into and the charge is permitted by law.
  8. Outstanding Accounts and Debt Recovery
Karinya Interiors reserves the right to pursue lawful debt recovery options for overdue amounts. Reasonable recovery costs may be sought only where legally recoverable.
  9. Customer Concerns and Consumer Rights
Karinya Interiors aims to resolve any genuine concerns promptly and fairly. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available to customers under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
  10. Acceptance of Terms
These terms form part of the agreement when provided to the customer before or at the time the quotation or order is accepted and agreed to by the customer.
  11. All work is subject to applicable Australian and Victorian laws.
